Over the past few months I've been working on refining the website and the collection as a whole. With the cost of gold fluctuating so much, it's been incredibly challenging as a small business owner to know how best to offer jewellery you'll reach for daily.
In the past, I've offered gold vermeil, plating and gold-filled pieces within the range to make lower price points possible. But it isn't jewellery I wholeheartedly love or believe in — hence the time for pause, reflection, and a recalibration of sorts.
So I've made the decision to remove every piece that doesn't fall under the definition of fine jewellery. Moving forward, everything on the website and everything I make will be either solid recycled silver or solid gold.
Why? Solid pieces are undoubtedly an investment, but they're a wearable one. Sturdy, easily polished and brought back to their best, and inherently recyclable — over and over again. This has always been the reason I'm so deeply drawn to making jewellery: working with these incredible natural elements, recycled rather than freshly mined, knowing that they can be melted down and made new again long after the piece has lived its life with you. That part still feels nothing short of incredible to me.
My pieces are made slowly, with intention and love, to ultimately be a considered purchase.
I've doubled down on my why, and on the core values of Muna Rosa. Every piece is made to be a wearable, modern heirloom — and the collection now completely reflects that. I hope it aligns with you too.
